International flights...first time

Chad Entry

So this is the first time I have traveled on a plane internationally.  It was way awesome.

After we got through getting from SLC to San Francisco I was ready for an 12 plus hour flight, starting at 11:00 PM.  So I thought, better get a snack before we get on cause I don't know what to expect.....

Kristie and I get on the plane and our seats are screwed up.  We inquire about sitting by each other because it is our honeymoon.  There is a little hesitation at first, but then it works.  Our flight attendant Cato, on Air New Zealand/United was awesome.  Our dinner service, which began at 12:00 and included free wine, was really good. Immediately after Cato brought us free Champagne, dessert and free complimentary pyjamas....stating he wanted us to have a good honeymoon.   I was super tired and slept for a bit, while Kristie, coming off of three straight night shifts was wide awake.  About the time she started to fall asleep there was a light night snack being delivered.  POW...turkey sandwich at 2:30 in the morning...why not....so Kristie passed and I woke up for 7 minutes to eat mine and go back to bed.  5:00 AM I've had enough sleep and wake up....Kristie is fast asleep because of an Ambien...am I bored? No Way I just watch Magnificent 7 on the TV which was one on my list to watch and was very good btw.

At 9 we are woken up for breakfast service...Cato loads us up with some more libations and water and tells us to enjoy our honeymoon.   He set our honeymoon off on the right foot.

At sometime around noon we get to Auckland and transfer to Queenstown...even though we live in the Mountain West, the first words out of my mouth getting off the Plane were "Holy S***"  The mountains out of queenstown were spectacular....jagged like the Tetons, and right in your face.

My first international travel was full of excitement and new experiences.
