The Jucy Van (K Post Entry):
We end up in Queenstown after a dizzying marathon of sitting, waiting, and
occasionally running. Before leaving the airport, we pick up our Jucy Camper van. On first appearance, it is perfect. As we inspect it, I note that the battery terminal is corroded. "No problem," says Chad. We are excited about the propects of a mini-fridge in the back, as well as the bed and extra storage. In the Jucy lot, we meet a fellow traveler from Germany who is ending his trip. He gives us extra food he hadn't used. Basic provisions, which we happily accept - milk, cheese, eggs, dates, and of course, Nutella. I had to chuckle. Some stereotypes are well earned. We drive away with no real idea of where we're going, and driving on the left side of the road. Chad is driving and I am hanging on, repeating a newfound mantra, "Keep left. Keep left." New Zealand, here we come.
Driving on the Left (C Post Entry)

Chad driving on the left...not too shabby. |
Driving on the left side of the road is very different...especially starting in a busy City like Queenstown...besides for driving on the left side of the road, the streets are narrow and there are a lot of dumb roundabouts...I still have to remind myself to keep left. Although I can see why I should be more respectful to tourists in the US....I am trying my best and trying to not cause an accident...oh how the rolls have reversed and now I get to experience being the Asian tourist driving in America.....Our Jucy Van embodies being a tourist, so hopefully the people are watching out for us a little bit too...it's a quick learning curve and nobody has died yet....We are now Kiwis.
